The Permanent Mission of Italy to the United Nations and the Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP) cordially invite you to a high-level briefing on the changing nature of peace and conflict globally.

The briefing will feature a presentation of the new 2024 Global Peace Index and its findings followed by an open discussion (Chatham House Rules) on the implications of findings for Member States, including their potential impact on future peace and security-related multilateral policies, programming, processes and negotiations.

This event builds on the recent SDG 16 High Level Conference “Peace, Justice and Inclusive Societies for Sustainable Development”, convened to prepare and serve the upcoming in-depth 2024 High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) review of SDG16. During the conference, the strong link between peace and sustainable development was reaffirmed and the importance of experiences and evidence-based models, such as the Global Peace Index, was highlighted.

Note: This is an invite-only event.

Speakers/Panellists:
