A Stronger Mexico: Pillars of Positive Peace

This week sees over 300 young people from across the whole of Mexico come together for a two day workshop exploring Positive Peace.

“Un México Mas Fuerte: Pilares de Paz Positiva” is a collaboration between the Institute for Economics and Peace, Rotary International, (and Rotary districts across Mexico, the US and Canada) and Universidad de las Américas Puebla. Focused around IEP’s Positive Peace framework, the workshops aims to provide youth leaders with the knowledge and tools they need to improve peace.

A series of seminars provides learning and insight into the Mexico Peace Index, social entrepreneurship, civic engagement and leadership, with breakout sessions on the pillars of Positive Peace. For much of the time, participants are working in four groups, each group focusing on two of the pillars of Positive Peace.

The groups are engaging with innovative methods to discuss each pillar, and are identifying peace-focused projects to pursue in their own communities.
