Public Event: Measuring the Global Impact of Terrorism

Terrorism experts will gather in Vienna to discuss the latest global data and the way ahead for Europe.

You’re invited to presentations and a panel discussion on Measuring the Global Impact of Terrorism in Vienna, Austria.

Experts in the study of terrorism will discuss the latest global data and talk about the way ahead for Europe. Serge Stroobants, Director of Operations for Europe and the MENA Region at the Institute for Economics and Peace, will present key findings from the 2018 Global Terrorism Index. A keynote speech will be delivered by Dr Peter Nesser from the Terrorism Research Group of the Norwegian Defense Research Establishment on Why Europe hasn’t won the war on terror? A closing panel discussion will also feature Dr Nicolas Stockhammer.

The event is brought to you by the National Defense Academy, Vienna, Research Group for Polemology and Law Ethics at the University of Vienna, supported by the Institute for Economics and Peace, and the Norwegian Defence Research Establishment.
