International Peace Day Forum

21 September marks the UN International Day of Peace.

It is a time ‘devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace’ (UN).

This year we are joining the United Nations program of events taking place around the world in marking United Nations 75th Anniversary by hosting a special event.

The Forum brings together special guests to discuss the complex notion of peace from various perspectives in a live panel discussion and Q&A.

Speakers:

MR CRAIG FOSTER, Refugee and Human Rights Ambassador, Amnesty International. Advisory Board Member of the Australian Institute of Human Rights, Sports Analyst and Former National Football Captain (Socceroos).

MR CHARLES ALLEN APM, Director Partnerships, Institute for Economics for Peace. Peace Builder, former policeman, and Board member with various not-forprofit social organisations.

MS ROHINI KAPPADATH, General Manager, Immigratin Museum. 2015 Telstra Victorian Business Womens Award Winner.

MS MAZITA MARZUKI, Consul General of Malaysia, Former Deputy Director General, Southeast Asia Regional Centre for Counter Terrorism, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Malaysia.

ASSOC PROF TOM CLARK, Academic and Researcher, Victoria University. President of the Australasian Universities Language and Literature Association (AULLA).

DR TERESA DE FAZIO, Moderator: Manager, Cultural Diversity Office VU. Former Commissioner, Victorian Multicultural Commission, Board Director, Multicultural Arts Victoria Women’s Advisory Committee, Federation of Ethnic Communities Councils of Australia.
